#FORFUTURE

mediapool stands for the environmentally and socially compatible design of conferences and events and has firmly integrated the idea of sustainability into its own working methods.

A sustainability guideline developed by us accompanies the project managers and customers transparently through all project phases. This enables us to demonstrably increase the effectiveness and reduce the ecological footprint of our events. We sound out products, services, technology and equipment according to environmental aspects and select them according to sustainable criteria.

Materials that are no longer used are made available at upcycling interfaces for further processing. More than 60% of our fleet consists of vehicles with alternative drive systems. We form carpools, use public transport and largely do without booking flights. mediapool attaches great importance to social sustainability and accessibility.
To the agency belong women’s and equal opportunities representatives, sustainability as well as disabled persons representatives. A good compatibility of work and family is guaranteed by flexible working time models.

mediapool pioneering: International sustainability standards in the event industry

The ISO 20121 standard “Sustainable event management – Requirements with guidance and application” was developed by the International Organization of Standartization (ISO) in 2012 as an international sustainability standard against which sustainable event planning and implementation can be uniformly measured.

ISO 20121 covers ecological, economic and social aspects in terms of sustainability within the company and along the entire value chain of an event. This standard covers everything from the selection of suppliers, transfers and conference venues to communication.

For comparison: the EU-wide recognized EMAS refers exclusively to the improvement of environmental performance within the company.

Certification to ISO 20121 confirms that the audited company is continuously concerned with the essential aspects of its activities – with regard to all three pillars of sustainable development (ISO 20121) – and that it specifically examines and continuously improves its own performance.

mediapool is certified according to ISO 20121 for the planning of the RENNtage 2019 (RNE Rat für Nachhaltige Entwicklung Deutschland)
